Senior Researcher - Optical System Design

In this role you drive advanced optical system design for smart display, projection, imaging and laser solutions, focusing on LC and diffractive elements. You will move from requirements through design, simulation and prototyping, addressing key challenges and pursuing technical breakthroughs. • conduct research and develop optical system concepts for display, projection, imaging and laser applications
• lead design, simulation and proof-of-concept prototyping to solve key challenges
• analyze business context, track new advancements, and identify high-value technical leads
• collaborate cross-departmentally and with regional teams to meet business goals

• maintain and standardize experimental equipment and R&D environments; share knowledge and develop team capabilities

• Master's in Optical Engineering or related field; PhD preferred
• experience in designing/display/projector/imaging/laser optical systems with product deployment or publications
• knowledge of Birdbath or pancake display systems preferred
• proficiency in optical design and simulation software
• programming skills for numerical calculations and data analysis (preferred)
• ability to independently conduct experiments and prototype development with lasers, spectrometers, beam analyzers, oscilloscopes and high-speed imaging detectors
• experience with liquid crystal devices or micro-nano diffractive optical elements or AI-integrated optical systems (preferred)
