Senior Software Engineer - Energy Markets (m/f/d)

As Senior Software Engineer - Energy Markets, you will shape the technical direction of our Energy Markets workstream and potentially grow into a lead role. You’ll build backend services for VPP operations and market integrations, and design data-centric systems. You’ll guide architectural decisions and collaborate across product, data, and engineering teams to accelerate the energy transition. This role offers impact at scale within a mission-driven, international team.

• Build and optimize backend services for VPP operations and energy market integrations
• Design systems at the intersection of backend and data processing pipelines
• Drive technical decisions and mentor engineers on architectural choices
• Navigate between data engineering, backend engineering, and energy market domains
• Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, and data scientists across team boundaries

• Proven experience building scalable backend solutions with TypeScript
• Data engineering fundamentals for bridging backend and data processing
• Hands-on experience with energy service interfaces (smart meters, optimization, load balancing)
• Strong knowledge of architectural patterns, CI/CD (GitHub Actions), and cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred)
• Ability to guide architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and coordinate across domains
