Senior Software Engineer Flight Control (all gender)

As an Embedded Software Engineer you will develop flight-critical C software within a DO-178C framework, ensuring traceability from requirements to tests. You’ll contribute across the V-cycle, from detailed design to verification, and support QA and process compliance. The role involves hands-on debugging, integration testing, and maintaining certification evidence to uphold safety standards. You will work with cross-functional teams to shape reliable flight control software for aerospace applications.

• Develop embedded C software for Flight Control functions
• Navigate the full V-cycle in a DO-178C environment (requirements, design, implementation, verification)
• Derive low-to-high level requirements and ensure full traceability (HLR to LLR to code to tests)
• Contribute from detailed design to implementation and verification (UML, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect)
• Create, review, and execute unit and integration tests (requirements-based)
• Assess verification evidence and ensure DO-178C compliance (SW Assurance & QA)
• Debug and perform integration testing with tools like Trace32 and Lauterbach
• Support QA audits, process compliance checks, and static code analysis

• Completed degree in aerospace engineering, software engineering or comparable technical qualification
• Strong Embedded C development experience across the full V-cycle (C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink is a plus)
• Hands-on experience with design tools (UML, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect)
• Unit testing experience (VectorCAST or equivalent)
• Requirements engineering (DOORS)
• Debugging & integration skills (Trace32, Lauterbach)
• Solid knowledge of DO-178C, traceability, and software verification principles
• Experience with Software Assurance & Quality Assurance processes
• Experience with DOORS, Git, Jenkins, VectorCAST/LDRA, Polyspace/Coverity, Jira, Astrée
• Knowledge of FMS/FMC, Flight Control Systems, ARINC standards, DAL levels, certification processes in aerospace
• RTOS experience; security clearance readiness (Level Ü2) is an advantage
• English proficiency; German a plus
