Airbus Defence and Space GmbH is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for Simulator Visualisation Solutions (d/f/m). The position focuses on designing, developing, integrating and testing visualisation components for aircraft simulations, including Image Generators, VR, AR, MR and the associated tooling.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop software architecture for visualisation and database preparation building blocks.
- Derive system requirements or user stories from operational needs for new simulation functionalities.
- Lead software development methodologies, toolchains and workflows.
- Perform code reviews and support the development of our software community.
- Evaluate and integrate visualisation solutions, and develop our in‑house visual interface (mainly C++).
- Create tools to improve development processes (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, code generators, test automation).
- Integrate developed components with simulator systems and Image Generator software.
- Develop and execute automated unit tests and subsystem tests.
- Document software modules.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in computer science, games engineering, electrical engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in software development and architectural design.
- Interest in flight simulators, visualisation technology and integration.
- Strong knowledge of object‑oriented programming and scripting languages, especially C/C++ and Python (other languages are a plus).
- Experience with DevOps/CI/CD solution development and maintenance.
- Proficiency in English; German language skills are a plus.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Analytical and structured thinking.
- Background in aeronautics, simulators, synthetic environments, geodata (OGC CDB) or visual systems is a plus.
Security clearance is required, or eligibility for clearance by the recognised authorities is necessary.
