Senior Software Engineer I - App Observability

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver backend systems and APIs. Architect and implement APIs and backend services in Go, emphasizing clarity, maintainability, and backward compatibility while considering cost, scale, and risk.
• Build and maintain full‑stack product features. Contribute frontend (React/TypeScript) and backend (Go) code to deliver robust product features, keeping proficiency across the stack.
• Provide technical leadership. Lead delivery of complex projects within the team and rotate tech‑lead responsibilities to develop leadership skills.
• Collaborate across disciplines. Work closely in a product triad model with design and product partners from discovery through delivery, iterating quickly based on user feedback.
• Support and own software in production. Participate in on‑call rotations to ensure reliable operations and address user pain points, balancing feature work and production needs.
• Communicate clearly and multiply your impact. Provide regular written and verbal communication, feedback, and collaboration to enhance team effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Deep experience designing, building, and maintaining backend systems. Proficient in Go, with strong judgment on API design and error handling.
• Frontend proficiency with React and TypeScript. Experience delivering frontend features and contributing to full‑stack software, while focusing primarily on backend systems.
• Experience leading complex technical projects. Planned and delivered projects, breaking down ambiguous work and shipping incrementally.
• Ownership and autonomy. Proactively identify problems, propose solutions, and deliver end‑to‑end projects while tackling technical debt and debugging across the stack.
• A track record of making others better. Deliver thorough code reviews and help teammates grow.
• A collaborative and flexible mindset. Comfortable pivoting priorities and working cross‑functionally with strong teamwork.
• Clear, open communication. Consistently provide thoughtful written and face‑to‑face communication and give/receive feedback.
• Interest in observability and production culture. Experience supporting software in production and opinions on effective on‑call practices.
• Nice to have: experience with AI‑assisted development tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor.
• Base Salary based on level of experience: $160,000—$180,000 USD.
