Senior Software Engineering Manager, ToastNow

Role overview

A senior engineering leader is needed to head a mobile application team delivering a native experience that puts day-to-day business management into the hands of hospitality operators. The role blends hands-on technical guidance with people management, focusing on rapid iteration, customer-driven feedback, and modern mobile architecture.

Responsibilities

• Drive delivery of business outcomes through planning, scheduling, and execution across the mobile team
• Lead cross-team and cross-organizational initiatives, building strong collaboration with product, design, and engineering partners
• Partner with product management and design to maintain a prioritized backlog of high-value work
• Own end-to-end software quality, including production monitoring and incident response
• Hire, onboard, and develop engineers, coaching both professional and technical growth
• Champion AI-assisted development practices to accelerate team velocity and raise the bar for engineering quality

Requirements

• Proven track record leading and mentoring engineering teams that deliver predictable business results
• Hands-on experience shipping high-quality iOS and/or Android applications, including native stack work
• Background managing a mix of core team and cross-functional embedded engagements
• Familiarity with modern API and service patterns such as GraphQL and microservices
• Comfort being hands-on and going deep to unblock the team, with an inclination toward creative problem solving
• Commitment to building diverse, customer-focused teams
