Senior Solutions Architect (Pre-Sales)

Overview

We are looking for passionate technologists to join our Pre‑Sales organization. MongoDB Pre‑Sales Solution Architects guide customers and users to design and build reliable, scalable systems using our data platform. You will work closely with sales executives, helping customers solve business problems, and play a key role in winning deals and driving the business forward. The role is based in Mexico City and supports a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable and performant applications, systems, and infrastructure for large software projects leveraging MongoDB.
• Guide customers on architecture patterns and optimisation strategies for MongoDB, clearly communicating its business value.
• Collaborate with the sales team to drive account success through account planning, opportunity prioritisation/qualification, and pipeline generation, while owning the technical aspects such as discovery, demos, proof of value, presentations, sizing, and documentation.
• Proactively generate demand within the sales territory through self‑driven technical initiatives and participation in industry trade shows and account‑based marketing events.
• Foster strong customer relationships, build champions, and ensure customer success and satisfaction.
• Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve MongoDB solutions and processes, relaying field feedback to product teams, and mentor other Solutions Consulting team members.
• Engage in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with the MongoDB product suite and industry trends.

Qualifications

• Ideally 8 to 11 years of related, customer‑facing experience, with 5 to 7 years in pre‑sales for enterprise software.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with modern scripting languages (Python, Node.js, SQL) and/or popular programming languages (C/C++, Java, C#) in a professional capacity.
• Experience designing scalable, highly available distributed systems in the cloud and on‑premises.
• Demonstrated ability to review complex architecture of existing applications and guide customers on improvements.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, able to convey complex technical and business concepts clearly to technical and business leadership.
• Ability to strategise with sales teams, recommending multi‑threaded account strategies and aligning MongoDB and ecosystem resources.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience selling databases and/or deploying applications with major cloud providers.
• Experience with database programming and data models.
• Experience in data engineering or AI/ML projects.
• Experience transforming legacy systems into modern, scalable, and efficient technology stacks.
• Understanding of popular sales methodologies/frameworks such as MEDDPICC or Command of the Message.
• Mongodb certification.
• Cloud provider certification.
