Senior Staff CAD Engineer

In this role you lead global EDA compute and CAD infrastructure, shaping scalable Linux-based environments for semiconductor development. You collaborate across engineering, CAD and IT/IS to deliver reliable, consistent workspaces and license infrastructure. You will drive automation, capacity planning and observability to reduce manual work and improve efficiency. This position offers impact across projects, tooling integration, and global teams with a clear focus on performance, reliability and scalability.

• Provide technical leadership for global EDA compute infrastructure and Linux-based engineering environments
• Own project/workspace architecture, creation mechanisms and global environment consistency
• Lead EDA license infrastructure, including deployment, automation, validation and auditing
• Develop and maintain automation for configuration, provisioning, monitoring and administration
• Integrate CAD infrastructure with CI (Jenkins) and service-management workflows; improve observability and maintainability
• Develop dashboards and metrics; monitor compute and license utilization; plan capacity
• Contribute to Linux OS strategy and tool compatibility for EDA environments; support migrations
• Maintain architecture documentation, recovery procedures and provide expert escalation
• Manage LSF-based compute environments and batch compute integration; monitor workload efficiency
• Provide Perforce server infrastructure expertise; automate and monitor Perforce environments; ensure lifecycle, storage and backups

• Significant experience in EDA/CAD infrastructure engineering within semiconductor development
• Strong Linux/Unix expertise
• Scripting and automation skills (Python and shell)
• Experience with LSF or comparable distributed compute environments
• Experience with Perforce Helix and IPLM
• Experience with engineering project/workspace management
• Understanding of compute, storage and network requirements for EDA environments
• Experience with EDA licensing and FlexNet-based licensing environments
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills
• Experience developing production-quality engineering automation
• Ability to work across global engineering, CAD and IT/IS organizations
• Strong technical documentation and knowledge-transfer skills
