Role Overview

The Senior System Administrator is responsible for providing advanced 2nd Level support for secure VPN solutions within a high-security IT environment. The role focuses on incident handling, troubleshooting, system administration, and ensuring the stability and reliability of IT communication services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently handle incoming incidents via phone and remote access in a 2nd Level Support environment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to secure VPN solutions in both internal and customer environments
  • Support the planning, evaluation, and implementation of IT service changes
  • Contribute to testing and quality assurance activities as part of the service lifecycle
  • Install and configure VPN solutions in compliance with defined security standards
  • Maintain, update, and enhance technical documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure service stability and performance

Qualifications

  • Completed vocational training in an IT-related field (e.g., system integration or application development) or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in IT environments

Professional Experience

  • At least 4 years of experience in service operations, including administration and support of IT and communication services
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in incident management within a 2nd Level Support environment
  • At least 2 years of experience in operation, administration, or troubleshooting of VPN solutions
  • Experience in Windows operating system administration

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of VPN technologies and secure communication systems
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes (ITIL Foundation or equivalent)
  • Experience with troubleshooting, remote support, and system administration
  • Familiarity with IT service management and structured support environments

Language Requirements

  • German: C1 level
  • English: B1 level

Additional Information

  • Willingness to travel within the country as required
