Position: Senior Systems Engineer – Stuttgart, Germany

This full‑time, OCONUS position requires an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance, eligibility for NATO Indoctrination and TESA accreditation, and additional requirements.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will provide expert knowledge and operational contributions in support of the Special Operations Command Africa (SOCAFRICA) mission, ensuring comprehensive operational and knowledge‑management support and related operational architecture services. The role involves overseeing operational effectiveness and data content during the current operational phase and contributing to improved operations in the objective architecture developmental phase.

• Act as an operational expert and subject‑matter thought leader capable of contributing to SOCAFRICA J3X operational architectures and testing new procedures.
• Maintain familiarity with a key SOCAFRICA operational area, such as RSO, Desk Officer, ASO, SAPO, or Foreign Disclosure.
• Apply knowledge of SOF Sensitive Activities subject‑matter expertise.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of demonstrated experience in the specific technical field, or 7+ years of work experience in the field.
• 10+ years of experience with U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) required—defined as having completed a SOCOM‑approved SOF assessment and selection process and having performed SOF operations at the unit level.

Certifications & Skills

• Current and active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• Proficiency with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies.

Travel & Passport

• Some travel, both CONUS and OCONUS, may be required; overnight stays possible.
• Must have an active passport to support OCONUS travel and/or living requirements.

Work Environment

• Primarily an office‑based role in Stuttgart, Germany with standard desk/computer work and flexibility for walking and movement on site.
• Compliance with vaccination and medical requirements for TDY/OCONUS roles as per Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil.
• May be required to travel short distances to offices, conference rooms, and buildings on site.
