Role Overview
As a Senior Technical Content Architect for BlackBerry Secusmart, you play a critical role in shaping, owning, and continuously advancing the documentation ecosystem for all Secusmart products in German and English. You hold end‑to‑end responsibility for customer‑facing product documentation, ensuring content is accurate, user‑centric, compliant with corporate and regulatory standards, and aligned with highly secure, mission‑critical product environments. In this senior capacity, you not only deliver high‑quality documentation but also serve as a trusted subject‑matter leader, influencing documentation strategy, standards, and best practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Documentation Leadership & Ownership
- Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of customer‑facing documentation for all BlackBerry Secusmart products
- Lead the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of comprehensive technical documentation as products evolve
- Proactively assess the documentation impact of new features, architectural changes, and procedural updates, ensuring all materials remain current and accurate
- Ensure documentation meets the highest standards for quality, usability, consistency, and regulatory alignment - Cross-Functional & Strategic Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, UX Design, Marketing, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, validate content, and align messaging
- Operate effectively in an international and cross‑cultural environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and professional judgment
- Independently analyze complex technical changes and features to establish a strong baseline understanding before engaging subject‑matter experts - Serve as a senior, trusted partner to experts by determining the right timing, depth, and focus for technical discussions—ensuring efficient, respectful, and high‑value collaboration
- Release Alignment & Development Engagement
- Participate in regular cross‑functional and development meetings to stay informed of current and upcoming product changes
- Determine documentation impacts early and define required updates, revisions, or new deliverables aligned with release milestones - Ensure documentation readiness is an integral part of product release quality and go‑to‑market preparedness
- Audience‑Focused Content Development
- Design and deliver documentation tailored to diverse audiences, including end users, System administrators, Internal teams and support functions, External evaluators, auditors, and governmental bodies
- Ensure all content is clear, precise, relevant, and appropriate to the audience’s technical expertise and use context - Regulatory, Security & Approval Support
- Lead contributions to technical and procedural documentation required for governmental approvals, certifications, and formal evaluations- Support internal teams with documentation required for compliance, security assurance, and operational readiness in regulated environments - Documentation Strategy & Continuous Improvement
- Drive the strategic evolution of the documentation portfolio, structure, and content model- Define and optimize documentation templates, workflows, and content standards- Ensure ongoing alignment with evolving corporate guidelines, security requirements, and industry best practices- Mentor and guide documentation practices, helping establish a scalable, consistent, and future‑ready documentation framework that supports long‑term product quality and customer satisfaction
Key Capabilities & Attributes
- Deep experience producing documentation for complex, security‑sensitive software systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
- Strong analytical ability to independently understand and document complex technical systems
- Senior‑level judgment in stakeholder engagement, prioritization, and content strategy
- High attention to detail and strong ownership mindset
- Ability to balance hands‑on delivery with strategic contribution and leadership influence
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, linguistics, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience
- Native proficiency in German and near‑native proficiency in English, with proven experience creating professional technical documentation in both languages
- Strong command of technical writing methodologies, documentation standards, and structured content principles
Professional Experience
- 5–10+ years of experience as a Technical Writer or Content Architect, with demonstrated progression to senior‑level responsibility
- Proven experience documenting complex software systems, preferably in security‑sensitive, enterprise, or regulated environments
- Familiarity with documentation requirements for government, defense, or regulated markets, including approval processes, audits, or formal evaluations will be an asset
- Hands‑on experience owning the end‑to‑end documentation lifecycle, from information gathering and drafting through review, publication, and long‑term maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to independently analyze new features, architectures, or system changes and translate them into clear, accurate, and user‑focused documentation
Compensation
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Hiring Base Salary Range: €72,000.00 - €94,500.00
