Senior Technical Project Manager (m/f/d)

Location: Berlin.

Turner & Townsend’s Data Centre team in Germany is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to oversee pre‑construction, construction, commissioning and close‑out phases of a hyperscale data centre project for a global technology client.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire project lifecycle, from design to construction to commissioning, ensuring completion within budget, on time and to the required quality standards while serving as the key client interface.
• Develop working relationships, solve problems and drive projects to successful completion.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors and regulatory authorities, to meet project requirements and resolve issues.
• Manage the design process to achieve the client’s requirements and manage expectations.
• Review project plans and specifications, scheduling, cost‑saving measures, discrepancies and potential construction problems.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards in accordance with industry regulations.
• Coordinate vendor scope with overall project delivery.
• Work closely with project teams to ensure effective and timely document processing and contract document management.
• Prepare regular reports for stakeholders, including progress updates, budget status and risk management.

Qualifications

• University degree in construction or a related field.
• Several years of project management experience in a data centre or similar technical environment.
• Technical understanding of data centre infrastructure – HVAC, electrical, generators, fire, security and BMS.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the full project life cycle, from inception through design, regulatory approvals, construction completion and post‑project review.
• Excellent knowledge and experience of all main project management concepts, tools and techniques.
• Ability to thrive in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment.
• Highly motivated and driven with a passion for delivering to clients.
• Fluent English and German language skills required.
• Availability for full‑time on‑site work.
