Your Role

As an AI Developer at welevel, you'll be instrumental in infusing intelligence into SolidRiver's game mechanics. Your innovative approaches in artificial intelligence will ensure dynamic, engaging, and realistic player interactions, taking the gameplay experience to unparalleled heights.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and refine AI algorithms and systems that dictate the behavior of characters, wildlife, and other in-game entities.
• Collaborate with game designers to ensure AI-driven elements challenge and entertain players while fitting the game's narrative.
• Employ Unreal Engine 5's advanced AI functionalities to achieve responsive and lifelike behaviors.
• Create pathfinding algorithms, decision trees, and state machines to facilitate natural character movements.
• Work in tandem with the animation and design teams to synchronize AI behaviors with visual cues.
• Continuously test, debug, and improve AI components to ensure they meet the desired quality benchmarks.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in game AI, integrating novel techniques and tools to enhance gameplay realism.
• Contribute to technical documentation, ensuring that AI systems are well-understood and maintainable.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an AI Developer, ideally within the gaming domain or projects demanding sophisticated AI solutions.
• Solid understanding of AI algorithms, methodologies, and tools relevant to game development.
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 and its AI toolset, such as Behavior Trees and Blackboards.
• Demonstrated ability to craft intuitive and challenging AI-driven game elements.
• Strong programming skills, preferably in C++.
• Adeptness at problem-solving, with a knack for innovative solutions to complex AI challenges.
• Proficiency in integrating AI components with other game systems, ensuring seamless interaction.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, ensuring smooth collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Onsite position (EU work authorization required).
