Senior Validator – Independent Validation Unit (m/f/d)

Within Allianz SE, Group Risk (GR) is responsible for managing risks and supporting value-focused company leadership. The Independent Validation Unit is the central global validation function responsible for independently validating internal models across many risk types in the context of Solvency II.

Role Overview

As a validator you support the Independent Validation Unit team with validating models and coordinating the group-wide major model change process with operating entities within Enterprise Risk, Governance & Control. You also support communication to supervisory authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate Property & Casualty (P/C) underwriting risk models
• Present validation results to senior management and provide actionable improvement recommendations
• Manage the model change process in close collaboration with senior management and supervisory authorities
• Maintain strong communication with model owners and internal model entities across the globe
• Engage directly with the supervisory authority, BaFin

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
• Actuarial qualification (or equivalent)
• Several years of professional experience in risk modeling within Solvency II or Basel II/III, specifically in Property & Casualty risk area
• Fluent in English; German proficiency is a strong advantage
• Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and statistical analysis tools/programming languages (e.g., R, Python)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong technical expertise and analytical capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in additional languages is a plus
• Interest or experience in other risk modeling areas (e.g., operational risk or tax) is an advantage
• Previous experience in insurance or asset management business functions, consulting, digital / tech is a plus
• Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solutions
