Overview

As a Senior/Principal Engineer, you will lead architecture and feasibility for micro/small mechatronic actuators and guide design, simulations, and validation. You will collaborate with European universities and external partners to advance actuator technologies for automotive applications. You will own prototype development, testing plans, and iterative improvements to meet reliability and performance targets. This role sits in Huawei’s Automotive R&D center in Nuremberg and offers cross-border collaboration, hands-on prototyping, and exposure to advanced mechatronics.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Lead architecture design and parameter selection for micro/small mechatronic actuators (e.g., MR dampers, micro coils, low-power motors)
  • Perform and/or guide electromagnetic, magnetic circuit, mechanical, and damping simulations to define system specs
  • Establish and maintain European university/research collaborations and drive joint R&D and technology transfer
  • Interface with European prototyping vendors, research institutes, and Tier suppliers; evaluate proposals and manage component customization
  • Drive end-to-end prototype fabrication and integration from concept to functional samples
  • Create test plans for actuator systems, supervise bench tests, and iterate designs based on results to meet performance targets
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related discipline
  • Hands-on R&D design experience in mechatronic actuators, low-power motors, electromagnetic coils, or damping systems
  • Proven track record in full-cycle Design–Prototype–Test delivery, including rapid prototyping and precision machining
  • Strong ability to manage collaborative R&D projects with universities, research institutes, and external suppliers
  • Professional working proficiency in English; cross-cultural communication skills
  • Proficiency with electromagnetic simulation software or CAD platforms (preferred)
