Senior/Principal Engineer - Vehicle Dynamics Control Algorithm

Overview

In this role you will lead the design and verification of chassis control algorithms to advance vehicle dynamics. You will work within the HUAWEI Automotive R&D Competence Center in Nuremberg, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver model-based control solutions and HIL testing. You will develop, verify, and optimize control algorithms for automotive applications, including safety-related aspects, using MATLAB/Simulink and hardware-in-the-loop platforms. This position offers impact on real-world vehicle performance and contribution to Huawei’s automotive technology roadmap.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Analyze requirements and design architecture for chassis control algorithms
  • Develop and implement control algorithms for chassis systems (ESC, ABS, TCS, AES)
  • Lead end-to-end work packages within projects and coordinate verification and validation
  • Model with MATLAB/Simulink, simulate, road test and validate concepts
  • Build and utilize HIL test platforms using dSPACE/AutoBox for rapid prototyping
  • Review design, verify functions, assess performance, and rectify issues
  • Support vehicle performance tests, bench tests, and vehicle evaluations
  • Assist embedded software engineers with code transplantation and integration
  • Debug and document control algorithm issues and field problem reports
  • Support failure mode analysis and system function development
  • Assist parameter calibration in vehicle environments to meet customer requirements
  • Contribute to modeling specifications, processes, and technical reviews
  • Mentor and participate in capacity-building activities within the team
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Master degree in vehicle engineering, automatic control or related field (Ph.D. preferred)
  • Experience in algorithm and SW development for chassis controls (ESC, ABS, TCS, AES) with mass production projects
  • Strong fundamentals in vehicle dynamics, physics and mathematics
  • Proficiency in classical and modern control theory, MPC, supervised learning, state observers
  • Proficiency with IPG Carmaker for modeling, simulation, and code generation (MBD)
  • C language programming and debugging; familiarity with embedded software development and basic hardware understanding
  • Experience with functional safety development is a plus
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
