Servo Motor System Expert-European Market

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Definition & System-Level Development

Engage with European customers and market-facing teams to understand application requirements and translate them into product specifications for servo motor systems.

Define servo motor system requirements in coordination with servo drives and encoder solutions, benchmarking leading European competitors to develop differentiated and competitive products.

Work with cross-functional R&D teams to address critical engineering challenges, including thermal performance and compact design, cogging torque, reliability, vibration, noise, and overall motion performance.

Contribute to product platform development and upgrades, balancing performance, cost, manufacturability, and application requirements.

2. Customer Application & Product Optimization

Participate in customer machine trials, product validation, and on-site technical evaluations.

Collect and analyze feedback from European customers, identify performance gaps and application challenges, and translate findings into actionable product improvement plans.

Collaborate with R&D and application engineering teams to validate solutions and continuously improve product performance and customer experience.

3. Technical Problem Solving & Quality Improvement

Support the analysis and resolution of technical and quality issues encountered in overseas markets.

Apply structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.

Analyze servo motor performance characteristics, including temperature rise, vibration, noise, speed fluctuation, torque ripple, and related dynamic performance.

Understand servo drive control principles and motor–drive–encoder interactions to support system-level troubleshooting and performance optimization.

Monitor developments in European machine-building industries, customer equipment designs, application requirements, and competing servo motor technologies.

Benchmark leading European servo motor products and identify opportunities for differentiation in product performance, reliability, integration, and cost competitiveness.

Identify emerging technical trends and translate market insights into product development priorities, technology research initiatives, and actionable development plans.

Work with product and R&D teams to define technical improvement directions and strengthen the competitiveness of servo motor products in Europe.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in servo motor product development, including successful product definition, design, validation, and mass production.
• Experience in developing or upgrading servo motor platforms or product families, with the ability to translate customer requirements into clear product specifications and technical solutions.
• Strong technical understanding of servo motor design, ideally covering both electromagnetic design and mechanical/structural design, with a system-level view of motor performance and engineering trade-offs.
• Deep understanding of key servo motor performance characteristics, including thermal behavior, cogging torque, vibration, noise, speed fluctuation, torque ripple, and reliability.
• Good understanding of servo motor control principles, servo drive interactions, and encoder technologies; able to define encoder requirements based on machine and application needs.
• Familiarity with European machine builders, OEM customers, industrial equipment design practices, and servo motor application scenarios.
• Experience in customer-facing technical discussions, product trials, troubleshooting, or product improvement projects is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with structured quality problem-solving methodologies, such as 8D and root cause analysis.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across international teams and cultures.
• A proactive, resilient, and solution-oriented mindset, with a willingness to tackle complex technical challenges and drive continuous improvement.
