Program Overview

Peraton provides USSOCOM, its Component Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), deployed forces, CIO/J6, and end‑users with high‑quality IT platform and network services over an eight‑year period.

About The Role

Systems Administrators will support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3. Positions are located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB FL, and at the TSOC and Component locations in the United States and abroad.

The role will be based at Baumholder, Germany.

Systems Administrators perform admin level support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. They must possess strong problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills, and in‑depth technical knowledge of the Government's systems' hardware and software. The position requires expertise in the specific types of hardware and software systems used by the Government.

They will monitor and control one or more mid‑range application servers, observe system operation, determine points of hardware or software failure, and manipulate systems in accordance with standard procedures to continue operations when individual units malfunction. They will collaborate with software systems engineering or applications programming personnel in the event that errors require changes of instructions or sequences of operations. They will maintain operating records such as machine performance and production reports.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Perform tier one and two network and systems support in accordance with the SIE OPORD.
• Provide support to systems hosting complex operational databases, software configuration control, and system interfaces for computer systems.
• Maintain file servers, network access, documents, analyze and troubleshoot systems anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance.
• Monitors and controls one or more mid‑range application servers.
• Studies program operating instructions to determine equipment setup and operations.
• Monitors the operation of assigned applications and storage devices and determines the point of hardware or software failure.
• Troubleshoots and configures systems in accordance with standard procedures to continue operations when individual units of a system malfunction.
• Coordinates with software systems engineering or applications developers as necessary to correct errors.
• Maintains operating records such as machine performance and production reports.
• Installs operating system software, patches, and upgrades.
• Analyzes, troubleshoots and resolves system hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Configures, optimizes, fine‑tunes, and monitors operating system software and hardware.
• Performs system backups and recovery.
• Conducts server builds.
• Completes troubleshooting issues related to infrastructure including VDI components.
• Develops and maintains SOPs for the infrastructure including VDI environment.

Qualifications

• BS + 8 years of experience OR MS + 6 years of experience OR HS with + 12 years of experience OR AA with + 10 years of experience.
• DoD TS with SCI is required.
• Required certification: DOD 01‑M IAT II.
• At least one (1) year of prior experience as a System Admin or IT Spec.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Government hardware, software, and network components.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and diagnostic skills, along with good communication abilities.

Details

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
