SMTS Wet Cleaning Process Engineer (f/m/d)

In this role you will lead the development and deployment of wet cleaning processes for 2D materials and novel device architectures at Black FabONE. You’ll own startup activities, qualify tools, and define ramp-to-production protocols to scale high-purity cleaning operations. You will collaborate across teams to ensure clean, contamination-controlled fabrication with a focus on 2D material integration. • Lead the development and implementation of wet clean processes for 2D materials and novel device architectures
• Own fab startup activities including tool installation, acceptance testing, recipe validation, and ramp-up
• Evaluate and define process specifications; collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to select and qualify cleaning tools
• Establish and maintain Process of Record (POR) for critical clean steps; define ramp-to-production protocols
• Coordinate with facility and equipment teams for chemical infrastructure integration (delivery, return, waste)
• Implement and manage SPC systems; drive continuous improvement through data-driven methods
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and fab technicians

• 5+ years in semiconductor process engineering with a focus on wet cleaning
• Strong understanding of contamination control, surface prep, post-process cleaning
• Experience with cleaning chemistry and hardware (single-wafer and batch tools)
• Exposure to 2D material preparation and integration (preferred)
• Experience in fab startup, pilot line development, or technology ramp-up
• Knowledge of chemical delivery, waste management in fab environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (RCA, corrective actions)
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Engineering or related field (Bachelor minimum)
