Software Designer – High -Tech Semiconductor Equipment (PLC / C++ / C#)

In this role you design and define PLC and higher-level software for next-generation semiconductor equipment, spanning machine control to system software. You work cross-functionally to translate requirements into robust designs and own modules from PLC layer up to software. You contribute to both greenfield and legacy architectures in close collaboration with hardware, electronics, and mechanics teams. You will design, implement, test, and commission complex equipment, with opportunities to travel and work hybrid. This is a hands-on, impact-focused position at Sioux in a cutting-edge field.

• Design and implement machine control software using PLC technologies (TwinCAT 3 / Siemens) and SECS/GEM
• Develop higher-level equipment control software components in C++ and C#
• Translate system requirements into integrated hardware–software designs
• Bridge control engineering and software engineering disciplines
• Contribute to greenfield and legacy architectures for high-tech machines
• Integrate, test, and commission complex semiconductor equipment
• Collaborate in Scrum teams across software, electronics, and mechanics

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field; 5–10+ years in high-tech machine building and software development
• Strong PLC-based machine control experience (Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 and/or Siemens)
• Experience with SECS/GEM and software development in C++ or C#
• Proven ability to design and implement control software for complex machines
• OO design, software architecture, and requirements engineering
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and modern tools (Git, Azure DevOps)
• Analytical, communicative, and problem-solving skills; ability to bridge machine control and software
• Willingness to travel in the Netherlands and Europe; hybrid on-site/remote work
• Nice to have: Python, Java, TwinCAT Safety, or industrial robotics (e.g., KUKA)
