Role Overview

Join a high-performance team driving cutting-edge measurement devices in the domain of high-speed digital and optical from prototypes to mature production. Take ownership of our internal test platform for these instruments. This role is critical in ensuring high up-time of our infrastructure which requires interfacing for different IT teams around the world. Your software engineering excellence will support the team in platform specific questions, maintaining an efficient development environment, enabling best-in-class test processes for new measurement devices and identifying and applying new technologies and processes. Lead and contribute to software projects improving and extending the capabilities of the test platform.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Process Improvement: Introduce, improve, and extend processes associated with production and platform infrastructure.
• Software Development: Update the test platform to adapt to technological advancements and client requirements.
• Technical Expertise: Give advice to the management on strategic initiatives, define and enroll new standards for the team.
• Leadership: Lead or consult on software projects.
• Operational Excellence: Ensure high uptime of key infrastructure (Database, Share and Web ).
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for the test platform and its components.
• Manage Codebase: Ensure code quality and maintainability.
• Support: Assist the team with platform-specific and software architecture questions.
• Communication: Interface and collaborate with international teams in R&D, manufacturing, and IT.
• Incident Management: Debug and communication on incidents of local or global impact.

Qualifications

Software Engineering Skills

• Proficient in desktop programming using C# / .NET and interfacing rational database with SQL as well as generic patterns and architectures in software development.
• Familiarity with DevOps principles: source control, build server, deployment.
• Orchestrate MS SQL Servers with replication, windows-based web servers network shares.
• Basic knowledge in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript / Typescript.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Willingness to take over ownership.
• Being a team player who can interact with fellow developers, users, and IT teams from different countries.
• Ability to self-organize projects and tasks while keeping deadlines.
• Differentiate between cause and effect to identify root causes.
• Courage to improve upon the status quo.

Other Skills

• Lead and manage projects.
• Good command of English and German
• Ability to create documents, presentations, and worksheets.
• Knowledge about measurement devices, optical / electronic metrology and DSP is beneficial.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
