Software Engineer – PHP

Stellenbeschreibung:

Develop information systems by studying operations, designing, developing, and installing software solutions
Support and develop the software team
Work with leadership to define software requirements
Lead operational and technical projects
Design, build, and maintain small-to-medium features and services using object-oriented design principles
Own technical implementation from design through deployment with limited oversight
Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, accelerate debugging, and support test creation
Design reusable, testable components aligned with existing architecture, interfaces, and coding standards
Diagnose and resolve non-trivial bugs and performance issues using logs, metrics, and traces
Contribute to automated testing, including unit and integration tests, and improve test coverage
Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers when appropriate
Apply secure coding practices and address common web and application security risks
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers during sprint planning, estimation, and backlog refinement
Maintain and improve technical documentation
Stay current on engineering and AI-assisted development practices and share effective techniques with the team

Requirements

4+ years of professional software development experience in an object-oriented language (PHP preferred)
Strong understanding of OOP principles, design patterns, and clean code practices
Experience working in a Linux-based development environment
Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS3
Solid experience with relational databases and SQL/MySQL
Working understanding of system architecture concepts, debugging strategies, and observability fundamentals (logs, metrics, tracing)
Demonstrated commitment to code quality, testing, and maintainable design
Practical experience using or strong interest in AI tools for coding, debugging, testing, or documentation responsibly
Experience with Docker or containerized environments (nice to have)
Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms (nice to have)
Experience using AI to improve engineering workflows (nice to have)
