Software Strategic Sourcing Advisor - Principal Consultant

In this role you help clients optimize software licensing and sourcing strategies to enable digital transformation and growth. You will work with cross-functional teams to develop and execute negotiation plans, build data-driven Excel models, and deliver actionable insights. You will lead mid-to-large scale engagements and collaborate with ISG partners to support sales opportunities. The position offers independent client work and opportunities to shape software advisory outcomes.

• Lead mid-size to large software sourcing engagements and critical workstreams
• Develop and execute negotiation strategies with software vendors
• Create data models in Excel to extract insights and inform decisions
• Support client execution of negotiation plans to achieve optimal outcomes
• Collaborate with ISG practice directors and account managers to develop solutions
• Present to multiple client stakeholders and support ISG sales pursuits
• Contribute to client-facing market research, case studies, and presentations

• 7+ years of cloud and on-premise software strategic sourcing (not transactional)
• Quantitative analysis and financial/price modeling experience
• Experience negotiating agreements with leading software vendors
• Strong expertise in SAP or Microsoft
• Past leadership of negotiations
• Strong presentation and cross-stakeholder collaboration skills
• Advanced Excel and market analysis capabilities
• Software provider research and market analysis skills
