SOTIF Expert (all genders)

Stellenbeschreibung:

Join us as a SOTIF Expert (all genders) in our SOTIF team and help shape the future of autonomous mobility!

Join an international team working on one of the most exciting and demanding challenges in the automotive industry: bringing automated driving into series production. Together with colleagues from technical development and cross‑functional teams, you will contribute to the development of the ID. Buzz AD (Autonomous Driving).

A crucial phase in the development of highly automated vehicles is ensuring safety with respect to behavioral safety (SOTIF). The relevant standard ISO 21448 requires continuous advancement of processes and technologies. These must be implemented, assessed, and refined in close collaboration with technical development teams and external partners.

In this role, you will identify, implement, and evaluate SOTIF‑relevant safety processes, methods and artifacts. You will also develop and assess new technologies and methodologies to analyze and validate the safety of automated driving software systems and their functional components.

What you will do

  • Identify and develop essential process steps, methods and tools including milestones to enable SOTIF release recommendation for automated driving systems.
  • Define requirements necessary to achieve behavioral safety.
  • Evaluate SOTIF artefacts in collaboration with system experts, software development teams, and test specialists.
  • Develop a comprehensive V&V strategy for SOTIF, and define and assess relevant test requirements, metrics, and strategies for system‑ and component‑level testing.
  • Execute SOTIF test campaigns in the verification and validation phase.
  • Assess and support the end‑to‑end SOTIF process leading to a SOTIF release recommendation.

What will help you to fulfill your role

  • Expertise in safety assurance and safety standards for autonomous systems (ISO 21448, ISO 26262, ISO 3450x, UL 4600, ISO 5083, …)
  • Creation and maintenance of scenario and triggering condition catalogues for testing
  • Strong experience in V&V or test management for automated driving, robotics, or ADAS
  • Software engineering, development, and testing
  • Statistics, testing methodologies, and simulation environments
  • Ability to communicate complex topics clearly and confidently to engineering teams, management, and safety stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, a structured mindset, and a high sense of quality.
  • Fluent English skills; German skills are highly beneficial.

Our benefits in a nutshell

  • Competitive salary (including bonus)
  • Hybrid work setup: Work from home or one of our offices—you and your team decide how often to meet, blending flexibility with collaboration.
  • Flexible working hours and the possibility of flexible work arrangements depending on your needs (parenting, care work, volunteering, etc.)
