Sous-Chef (Deputy Head Chef) - Italian Restaurant

This full-time opportunity in Munich offers a gross salary of €3,800–€4,800 per month (€45,600–€57,600/year) for an experienced culinary leader to work as the Head Chef's right hand. The Sous-Chef leads, manages, and develops the daily operations of the kitchen, takes charge in the Head Chef's absence, and contributes to menu development while ensuring food quality, cost control, and hygiene compliance. Candidates need proven leadership experience in commercial kitchens and B1 German.

Responsibilities

Taking full responsibility for managing and supervising kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence.
Leading, mentoring, and developing the kitchen team while maintaining motivation and performance.
Contributing to the creation of new dishes and menu development.
Managing food costs and minimising waste while ensuring food safety and hygiene compliance.
Supporting the Head Chef in maintaining consistent food quality, presentation, and kitchen performance.
Ensuring efficient coordination between kitchen sections during busy service periods.

Must Have

German language proficiency of at least B1 level.
Proven leadership experience in managing busy commercial kitchens.
Advanced culinary skills and extensive knowledge of professional kitchen management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to remain organised and perform effectively under pressure.
