Spacecraft Operations Engineer for LEO and/or GEO satellites [26130]

Overview

As a member of the EUMETSAT-focused team, you ensure continuous in-flight spacecraft operations and provide 24/7 on-call support. You monitor health and performance, update the operational baseline, and assist with anomaly investigations and system validation. You collaborate with satellite manufacturers, contribute to simulator and tool development, and help prepare procedures and documentation for operational readiness. This role offers impact on mission readiness and space systems performance in a dynamic, international environment.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Ensure 24/7 on-call spacecraft operations and mission planning checks
  • Monitor health and performance of subsystems using available tools and report findings
  • Contribute to in-orbit anomaly investigations and operational baseline updates
  • Prepare and maintain operational guides, procedures, and validation documents
  • Support space segment reviews, system validation tests, and rehearsal activities
  • Assist with spacecraft simulator development and validation
  • Support LEOP and decommissioning activities and related technology tests
  • Produce and maintain end-to-end operational data units and documentation
  • Contribute to SATSIM tool development for verification and validation
  • Coordinate with subsystem teams for operational readiness before launch
  • Prepare and execute Operational validation campaigns and rehearsals
  • Assist in training development for satellite-level operations
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Spacecraft operations experience (LEO/GEO) with responsibility for subsystems or instruments
  • Experience in spacecraft operations preparation, baseline development, and validation tools (e.g., spacecraft simulator) and ground segment facilities
  • Experience in satellite performance monitoring, anomaly analysis, and configuration management
  • Experience with ground segment facilities and mission planning, on-board software management, and simulator facilities
  • Experience with SCOS 2000 (Mission Control System)
