Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Engineer to work on system architectures, product design, and roadmaps. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in system architecture and design, complex mechatronics, strong communication skills, and the ability to both lead architecture definition and work effectively independently or in a team. The candidate must be able to drive progress from full ambiguity to product design, release, and production.

Key Responsibilities

• Own delivery of robotic products on time, within budget, and with targeted performance.
• Scope, manage, and deliver multiple technical projects in parallel from concept to production.
• Work with an interdisciplinary team to improve and maintain existing product designs—including specification, design, prototyping, validation, and testing.
• Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality organizations and vendors to ensure a smooth production transition of design changes.
• Write requirements and functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
• Demonstrate thorough engineering analysis and serve as a role model for best engineering practices.
• Mentor colleagues.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience fielding industrial robot systems.
• Experience supporting engineering change control processes (Agile).
• Experience in mechanical design and management.
• Familiarity with industry‑standard CAD, FEA design tools, industry trends, and design for manufacturability.
• Experience with project management of technical projects.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechatronic systems experience.
• Proven track record of developing products for large‑volume production.
• Experience managing challenging assignments quickly.
• Proficiency with Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software and change control procedures.
