About the role

To support our Berlin-based Accounting team, we are looking for a committed and structured Senior Accountant who enjoys collaborative teamwork, real estate-focused accounting, and building reliable finance processes.

In this role, you will be a key member of the Finance team and responsible for the accurate and timely execution of financial processes and reporting for an assigned German real estate portfolio. You will ensure the integrity of accounting records, compliance with local GAAP and alignment with internal controls and corporate standards.

As part of Arcura Medical Properties’ dedicated European healthcare real estate platform, you will also contribute to strengthening and further developing finance processes, including process onboarding, system improvements, and the optimization of accounting workflows.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage accounting activities for an assigned German real estate portfolio, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards
  • Lead monthly and quarterly closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Perform general ledger, account, and bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including correct coding, timely payments, collections, and related controls
  • Prepare financial reporting packages and provide commentary on key variances and financial indicators
  • Prepare and file monthly VAT returns and support tax compliance requirements relevant to real estate
  • Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and collaborate with external auditors
  • Support annual budgeting and reforecasting processes by preparing accurate property-level financial data
  • Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes, systems, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Act as the main accounting point of contact for assigned properties, working closely with Asset Management, Property Management, tax advisors, auditors, and internal Finance teams
  • Clearly communicate financial results, accounting policies, and accounting-related topics to financial and non-financial stakeholders

What you bring

  • Completed training as a certified accountant, for example Bilanzbuchhalter*in, or a comparable qualification
  • At least 5 years of professional accounting experience, ideally in the real estate sector
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles under German GAAP; IFRS exposure is a plus
  • Solid understanding of VAT, tax compliance requirements, and accounting practices relevant to real estate
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial topics clearly
  • Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken
  • Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems, for example SAP, Yardi, or equivalent, as well as advanced Excel skills

What you can expect

  • A permanent full-time position with 40 working hours per week
  • We work in an office-first setup, with the option to work from home 1–2 days per week depending on business needs. A start date from 15 June 2026 or as soon as possible
  • A salary range of €65,000 to €70,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications
  • A target bonus of 12% of gross annual salary
