Summary of the role
Nordson is seeking a Staff Business Analyst to act as the key link between technology teams and business stakeholders to drive the optimization, simplification and strategic implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) in a complex and growing global business environment.
The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with business acumen and strategic vision to deliver solutions on time, maximize business productivity, maintain the application lifecycle and optimize operating costs. Strong communication skills are required to quickly understand business challenges, opportunities for continuous improvement and to guide the platform’s long‑term success across multiple locations and divisions.
Role and Responsibilities
- Technical Acumen:
- Develop test plans, functional and technical specifications, ensuring completion of all required testing and validations and ensuring solutions are delivered on time, within specification and do not create risk
- Make technical configurations in the system to customize it as needed
- Leverage strong Azure DevOps skills including agile project management within a solution delivery framework
- Manage D365 Lifecycle Management Platform execution, D365 Power Platform Administration, and MS Admin Console license management optimization
- Design and build D365 Security and Role configurations that achieve business security and regulatory requirements and optimizes license cost
- Understand D365 Azure implementations in the public cloud and application lifecycle requirements related to required updates and impact of solution delivery
- Understand integration technologies and implementation strategies leveraging best practices within the D365 Ecosystem
- Use MS Power BI in both D365 F&O and data transport layers to expose data entities to D&A and Citizen PBI developers
- Business Acumen:
- Evaluate business operations and identify opportunities for improvement, such as cost reduction, improved accuracy, and process streamlining across multiple locations
- Translate complex technical concepts into concise actionable items that demonstrate true business value measured with key metrics
- Provide thought leadership to key stakeholders and influence strategic solution delivery to ensure the right solution is delivered at the right time
- Assist in resolving software support issues with a sense of urgency and agility that not only resolves immediate issues but prevents them from recurring
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Interface with the business on site to refine processes and procedures and translate these into technical requirements and objectives
- Communicate with diverse stakeholders using appropriate communication styles
- Execute the solution delivery framework by influencing the business to favor standard D365 F&O functionality configuration without introducing complex custom configurations
- Collaborate with stakeholders in application rationalization and consolidation, identifying gaps and reliance on legacy systems that require creative architectural solutions
- Solution Delivery:
- Collaborate with PMO to deliver project objectives, timelines, prioritization, and implementation plans, ensuring cost‑effective, quality, and timely delivery of high‑quality IT solutions
- Collaborate with Security and Risk to ensure safe delivery of projects and mitigate potential risks discovered in past deployments
- Prepare for, architect, and deliver future deployments of D365 F&O to other business units
- Manage work on multiple projects over a given duration of time
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information science and 8+ years business application experience with D365 F&O
- Participated in a primary role for one or more D365 F&O Implementation
- Speak German and English fluently
- Strong knowledge of SDLC and Agile and Waterfall Approaches
- Strong understanding of the entire D365 F&O technology stack, Data Entity Framework and schema architecture
- Design and Architecture experience in the D365 F&O environment related to customizations and best practices
- Strong skills in Azure DevOps, JSON, XML, REST, Power Platform Applications, MS Synergy and MS Fabric
- Well‑developed diagnostic skills
