As Staff Engineer (gn) - AI & Data Focus , you will help shape our architectural direction, strengthen our engineering foundations, and accelerate the responsible adoption of AI across teams. You work hands‑on within your value stream while also contributing broadly across the organization – improving systems, enabling teams, and driving long‑term technical impact.

Your mission
- You provide architectural and technical leadership by driving scalable architectures and long‑term technical improvements across teams.
- You support engineers hands‑on in designing and implementing high‑quality services, distributed systems, and data pipelines.
- You collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and other Staff Engineers to align on architectural decisions and technical direction.
- You evaluate and integrate AI technologies where they strengthen systems, processes, or product capabilities with measurable impact.
- You enable responsible AI adoption by defining best practices, guidelines, and reusable patterns across engineering.
- You mentor engineers and drive cross‑team alignment while reducing complexity and improving engineering‑wide consistency.
Experience & Skills
- You already work as a Staff Engineer and have impact on departmental level, not only within your team.
- You have extensive experience in modern software engineering and distributed systems.
- You bring strong architectural thinking and can align teams and stakeholders on technical decisions.
- You have deep experience with event‑driven systems, microservices, and AWS‑based architectures.
- You are familiar with data warehouse concepts, data modeling, data governance, data pipelines, and data quality frameworks.
- You have a solid understanding of AI concepts such as LLMs, embeddings, vector search, agents, and automation patterns.
- You have experience integrating AI capabilities into existing systems or workflows and assessing feasibility, risk, and impact.
- You communicate fluently in English; German is a plus.
