Staff Engineer Software Functional Safety Cybersecurity (f/m/div)

In this Staff Engineer role, you shape safe and secure automotive embedded software by applying ISO 26262 and ISO 21434 in low-level components. You will contribute across the embedded software lifecycle and ensure ASPICE-aligned processes, working within Infineon’s Research & Development team. You help drive real-world impact through safety and cybersecurity analyses for globally shipped automotive products. This is a hands-on, cross-disciplinary position that combines engineering excellence with a mission to advance efficient, secure mobility.

• Execute Functional Safety (ISO 26262) analyses at low-level embedded software to identify safety-related parts and verify safety measures
• Execute Cybersecurity (ISO 21434) analyses at low-level embedded software, including TARA, HAZOP, weakness analysis, vulnerability analysis, and CWE analysis
• Define, maintain, and refine Assumptions of Use and safety/cybersecurity objectives documentation for low-level components
• Contribute across the embedded software lifecycle (requirements, architecture, design, implementation, verification) with a generalist engineering approach
• Ensure development processes and evidence align with Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) and automotive standards

• Degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar field
• 3–5 years of professional experience in embedded software development and verification
• Hands-on ISO 26262 software-level experience (ASIL handling, memory/peripheral protection, protection from interference)
• Hands-on ISO 21434 software-level experience (TARA, HAZOP/weakness, CWE/vulnerability analysis, secure IPC, cryptography mechanisms)
• Experience defining Assumptions of Use and safety/cybersecurity objectives documentation
• Proficiency in embedded C, familiarity with compilers, debuggers, and simulation tools; knowledge of ARM/RISC-V; ASPICE processes
• Strong analytical mindset and self-organization; AI in engineering workflows a plus
