Staff Infrastructure Engineer

About The Opportunity

This opportunity is based in Munich. We are looking for a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to help establish our team’s presence in the United States. This is a meaningful role where you will contribute significantly to the technical direction and best practices for our infrastructure in the region. Your work will involve a thoughtful blend of responsibilities, from hands-on systems administration to building reliable automation and contributing to our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practice. There is never a dull day; your contributions will support a wide variety of critical systems, including our anonymous multi-party computation platforms, internal security services, and blockchain node deployments. Ultimately, your work will directly support our teams and the project’s long-term goals.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on systems administration and operation of complex infrastructure.
• Build reliable automation and contribute to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
• Support critical systems, including anonymous multi-party computation platforms, internal security services, and blockchain node deployments.
• Define and influence technical direction and best practices for regional infrastructure.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience as a senior infrastructure engineer.
• Strong foundation in systems engineering with hands-on experience in Linux, networking, and cloud environments (AWS or GCP).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Terraform.
• Proactive and thoughtful problem-solver who follows through to resolution.
• Clear, kind communicator able to work effectively with a distributed team and support colleagues with varying technical backgrounds.
• Motivated by contributing expertise to a project with a broad and positive mission.
• Experience with large-scale, distributed systems.
