Job Summary
This is a Staff Experience Researcher role within PayPal’s EMEA Markets team, part of Global Customer Insights. You will lead market research across EMEA, with a focus on Germany, to uncover customer attitudes, competitive dynamics, and trends.
Responsibilities
- Develop clear plans and priorities to gather insights and make data‑driven decisions to meet team performance.
- Perform more‑complex analysis using highly specialized product knowledge and advanced business expertise.
- Lead functional projects and programs that enhance user experiences based on research findings.
- Design methodologies including user testing, surveys and data analysis, understanding of business needs and industry trends.
- Develop and implement research methodologies that optimize user testing and data collection processes.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of research practices and team efficiencies.
Day‑to‑Day Activities
- Design and execute strategic market research programs including launch diagnostics, conjoint analysis, concept testing, customer segmentation, and competitive intelligence studies for EMEA/Germany.
- Develop and manage large‑scale quantitative research—surveys, panels, and behavioral data integration—to generate statistically robust insights on customer attitudes, needs, and market trends.
- Translate complex datasets into clear, compelling strategic narratives that drive decision‑making at the product, regional, and executive level.
- Partner with product, strategy, and commercial leadership to align research priorities with regional business goals and shape roadmap decisions.
- Act as the EMEA subject‑matter expert in market research methodology—elevating standards, establishing best practices, and mentoring junior researchers across the team.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with financial services, payments, or fintech consumer landscapes in EMEA.
- Experience managing research agencies and external vendors for large‑scale quantitative programs.
- Professional level English; German language proficiency (professional level) is a strong plus. Additional languages, such as French, Italian or Spanish, are advantageous.
- Experience presenting to VP‑level stakeholders.
