Overview

As a Stress and Dynamics Engineer at Helsing, you own the structural integrity of drone systems, from assemblies to critical components. You will blend advanced simulation with physical testing to derive loads, build validated finite element models, and deliver structural assessments that guide design decisions. Your work supports airworthiness and performance of autonomous systems in demanding environments, alongside mechanical, systems, and test teams. This role offers impactful work at the intersection of AI-enabled defence technology and rigorous engineering.

Verantwortungsbereiche

Own end-to-end structural simulation of complex drone products, subassemblies, and components with design decisions gated by assessments
Define loads, boundary conditions, and material properties with traceable inputs
Perform static and dynamic structural assessments, including modal analyses and model correlation
Plan and execute structural tests for model validation and technology derisking
Produce design reports and sensitivity studies guiding optimal structural solutions

Zentrale Anforderungen

Finite element modeling of complex aerospace or demanding structures using Simcenter or SolidWorks Simulation
Analytical assessment of standard structural components (bolts, bearings, fittings) with confidence and rigour
Plan and execute structural test campaigns and close loop between test data and simulation
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and apply model order reduction for high-fidelity systems
Clear communication of technical findings in English to engineering and non-engineering audiences
Decisive, autonomous approach, owning outcomes end-to-end
