Structural Engineer for Structural Health Monitoring - Offshore Wind Foundation

Job Summary

Do you want to analyze data and develop state‑of‑the‑art tools that support lifetime extension and data‑driven design for offshore wind farms? We are looking for a Structural Engineer with a strong background in structural dynamics and knowledge of structural health monitoring to ensure the continuous development and maintenance of our in‑house structural health monitoring tool and analysis of data from our offshore wind farms. This includes the creation of digital twins by combining operational modal analysis with finite element updating methods. As part of the development of our in‑house tools, you will analyse data from our existing assets and prepare specialised reports and technical notes to improve certainty and methods used for current operations and future offshore wind farm design.

Responsibilities

• Assess the performance and improve methods for virtual sensing and operational modal analysis.
• Maintain and develop the in‑house structural health monitoring tool.
• Ensure that the structural health monitoring tool is up to date and available for analysis of running assets.
• Perform quality assurance of new implementations in the in‑house structural health monitoring tool.
• Report predicted lifetime and reliability for monitored assets and update inspection plans.
• Analyse incoming data and give feedback to site on current operations.
• Use analysed measurement data to improve certainty and methods used for primary steel design.
• Carry out primary structure design in our in‑house design tool.

Qualifications

You are proactive, practical, solution‑oriented, with strong interpersonal skills. You contribute to an inclusive team culture, support colleagues, and work collaboratively toward shared goals.

• Hold a master’s degree in engineering.
• Strong knowledge of structural dynamics, operational modal analysis, and finite element modelling.
• Programming skills in Python.
• Systematic and organised in the way you work.
• Proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbally.
• Motivated, engaged, and value collaboration as an effective way to develop solutions.

Location

Office location is Kolding, Copenhagen or Hamburg. Occasional travel should be expected.
