Supervisor Design Assurance (m/f/d)

Novanta is looking for a Supervisor Design Assurance Engineer (m/f/d) in Berlin. In this role you will lead the local Design Assurance team while actively contributing as an engineer by ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance throughout the development of medical devices.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership : Provide first‑level leadership, coordinate daily activities, and motivate the team.
• Design Assurance & Development Support : Create and review overall quality plans, document plans, and V&V strategies.
• Design Control Compliance : Review DesignControl documentation in compliance with GLP, GDP, and FDA 21CFR820.
• Risk Management (ISO14971) : Participate in risk management, review risk analyses and control measures.
• Product Development & Quality Activities : Contribute to Product/Design FMEA, support series testing specifications, perform failure analysis, and initiate process improvements.
• Compliance & Standards : Support NC/CAPA activities in accordance with ISO13485; ensure adherence to quality, occupational safety, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• 5years of professional experience in a regulated industry.
• Prior team leadership experience is an advantage.
• Experience in product quality within highly regulated industries (medical devices preferred; automotive or aviation accepted).
• Knowledge of ISO13485, quality management systems, risk management, and documentation control.
• Experience with quality and statistical methods, system, reliability, software, or hardware testing.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
• Fluent in English (minimum B2). Willingness to travel (≈10%).
