System Engineer Electronics (all genders)

In this role you will be the electronics hardware expert within the toniesOS team, ensuring reliable performance across Tonie devices. You collaborate with hardware, firmware, and manufacturing partners to drive design quality, industrialisation, and continuous improvement. You will analyze failures, validate components, and support ODMs on-site to enable mass production. This is an opportunity to shape the hardware architecture of a global, screen-free play platform.

• Review and provide technical feedback on hardware designs to meet performance and quality targets
• Support component qualification and approval aligning parts with technical requirements
• Coordinate with ODMs and provide on-site troubleshooting and design approvals
• Conduct root-cause analysis on customer returns and field failures to drive design improvements
• Facilitate early product design validation and specify electronics requirements for feasibility and industrialisation

• 5+ years in hardware engineering or related field
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent
• Proven ODM management experience and partnerships
• High proficiency with ECAD tools for circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout
• Hands-on experience from prototyping to mass production with emphasis on DFM and quality optimization
• Willingness to work from Düsseldorf office several days per week and travel internationally
• Fluency in English; German or Mandarin is a plus
