System Engineer (m/f/x) – Satellite Modems

In this role you will design and integrate advanced satellite modem systems within a multidisciplinary team, delivering validated solutions for modern satellite communications. You’ll own existing products and contribute to new developments and research projects, aligning with industry standards to ensure robust, scalable systems. You’ll collaborate across RF, DSP, software and hardware to resolve complex issues and guide customer engagements through technical reviews and acceptance testing. • Develop systems engineering understanding of satellite modem products from tasks and projects
• Own existing modem products and new developments within the product group
• Support implementation and validation of DVB-S2, DVB-S2X, CCSDS and other satellite protocols
• Investigate and resolve complex system-level issues with cross-functional teams
• Coordinate development and integration of hardware, FPGA, firmware and software components
• Provide technical expertise during customer engagements, pre-sales, requirements engineering, reviews and acceptance testing
• Create and maintain system specifications, ICDs, verification plans, test reports and documentation throughout the lifecycle

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, communications or information technology
• At least 5 years hands-on experience in professional satellite modem technology or related comms tech
• Experience with satellite communication systems and modem tech (highly desirable)
• Strong IP networking knowledge and familiarity with DVB-S2X, DVB-RCS2, CCSDS
• Analytical problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
• Understanding of hardware, FPGA, embedded software and application software interfaces
• Knowledge of digital communication theory, waveform design, modulation/coding, synchronization and protocols
• Excellent written and verbal communication in German (B1+) and English
