System Engineer - S3-NG OPT (m/f/d) Ref. No. 26-84459

In this role you help shape the Sentinel-3 Next Generation Optical mission by defining and integrating the System and Ground Segment architecture. You work upstream in requirements, interfaces and design, collaborating with EUMETSAT, partners and suppliers to influence decisions early in the lifecycle. You’ll apply MBSE to develop models, support trade studies and ensure traceability across the project. This is a hands-on opportunity to impact architecture, verification and operational readiness for a key space mission.

• Define, consolidate and maintain System and Ground Segment requirements
• Derive and allocate requirements to Ground Segment and subsystems
• Maintain traceability from requirements to design
• Contribute to system architecture and interface definition
• Prepare and maintain ICDs and related technical documentation
• Support architecture development, analyses and trade-off studies
• Assist in performance, sizing and technical budgets
• Support selection and sizing of processing hardware and infrastructure
• Prepare and maintain System Engineering models and design documentation
• Review supplier technical documents and manage RIDs
• Participate in SRR, PDR, CDR and technical meetings
• Contribute to verification approach and verifiability of requirements and design

• Excellent written and spoken English
• Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related engineering discipline
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Systems Engineering (space or Earth Observation preferred)
• Experience with requirements engineering, derivation, allocation and traceability
• Experience with system architecture and interface definition
• Experience preparing and reviewing technical specifications and engineering documentation
• Knowledge of space and Ground Segment engineering processes and ECSS
• Experience with SRR, PDR and CDR
• Interface management and ICDs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work across multiple technical disciplines and communicate with engineers, project teams, suppliers and partners
