Your prospective job:

You are acting as a System Safety Engineer (m/f/d) for our client Airbus Defence and Space in Manching.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct main Safety assessments (Functional Hazard Assessment/System Safety Assessment) activities for military aircraft and systems, supporting the phases until certification
  • Lead and conduct Risk Analyses, according to the applicable guidance and standards, which are required to support the continuous aircraft development (including Permit to Fly/Type Certificate)
  • Lead and conduct Common-Cause Analyses (Particular Risk Analysis, Zonal Safety Analysis and Common Mode Analysis)
  • Lead, manage and generate safety requirements, safety evidences (tests, simulation, analyses), Safety Procedures and Limitations, interface with other technical domains (processes, maintenance, human factors, aircraft performance and quality, etc.)
  • Strong influence on aircraft/systems architecture development according to the required Safety/Integrity
  • Act as interface at the required level with internal and external stake holders (Chief Engineering, Project Management, Design Teams, Airworthiness Authorities, Industrial Partners, Customers, Suppliers)
  • Review, approval and application of supplier data regarding Safety and Reliability, the analyses and activities comprise the requirements of all levels of development, from Aircraft level resp. System of Systems level down to detailed requirements regarding hardware and Software

Your profile:

  • Completed studies in the field of Aerospace, Physical Science or comparable
  • At least 2 years of System Engineering experience with interface to Safety Assessment/Airworthiness/Certification
  • Knowledge of Aircraft systems
  • Experience with Safety Tools (e.g. Isograph FaultTree+, Reliability Workbench) and MS-Office
  • System Safety Assessment experience would be an advantage
  • Fluent English skills, written and spoken
  • German knowledge is desired
