About the role

This position places you at the intersection of system integration and validation. You will construct and configure Hardware-in-the-Loop environments from the ground up. We are seeking a systematic problem-solver who can navigate ambiguous requirements and connect various parts of the vehicle architecture.

What you'll do

  • Build, configure, and initialize dSPACE and Vector HiL test benches, lab cars, and test environments for new projects.
  • Create and integrate complex vehicle simulation models using MATLAB/Simulink, linking them with HiL hardware systems.
  • Analyze high-level system requirements, identify functional gaps, and design comprehensive validation strategies even with limited documentation.
  • Develop automation scripts in Python for testing across simulated, bench, and prototype vehicle environments.
  • Configure vehicle communication networks and assets (ARXML, K-Matrix) using CAN, Automotive Ethernet, FlexRay, and LIN protocols.
  • Conduct in-depth failure analysis, collaborating with engineering teams and OEM partners to resolve system-level issues.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in automotive systems validation, embedded systems, or hardware integration, with exposure to multiple vehicle domains (e.g., ADAS, Powertrain, Body, Infotainment).
  • Ability to independently drive projects forward with a proactive attitude, even when requirements are not fully defined.
  • Hands‑on experience building or configuring dSPACE (ControlDesk/ConfigurationDesk) or Vector hardware and software (CANoe, CANape).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Python for test automation and MATLAB/Simulink for vehicle model development.
  • Practical understanding of automotive network protocols (CAN, Automotive Ethernet, LIN, FlexRay) and network files (ARXML, K-Matrix).

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with AI/LLM-assisted coding workflows for test generation and scripting.
  • Experience with prototype vehicle bring‑up and debugging in lab or track settings.

Practical notes

  • This is an on-site position in Stuttgart, with an expectation of primarily working from the office 5 days a week.
  • Flexibility for occasional remote work or adjusted schedules is recognized.
