Systems Architect - Electronic Warfare

As System Architect for Electronic Warfare, you own the airborne EW architecture and the threat-driven capability roadmap. You drive integration across sensors, define operational concepts, and shape the kill chain from detection to execution. You lead digital engineering, performance modelling, and the overall test strategy while balancing trade-offs with internal teams and suppliers. • Own end-to-end EW architecture for an airborne platform, including roadmap, interfaces, and integration across sensors
• Translate operational scenarios into EW requirements and measurable KPIs
• Define the EW CONOPS and behavior
• Establish sensor-to-effector kill chain from detection to assessment with timing budgets and data products
• Lead multi-sensor fusion architecture (RWR/ESM, radar, EO/IR, navigation)
• Architect threat library / mission data concepts
• Establish system safety and assurance for autonomous EW actions
• Lead digital engineering for EW performance modelling
• Define the test and evaluation strategy
• Coordinate cross-functional design decisions with airframe, avionics, comms, mission computing, and suppliers; manage technical trade-offs
• Own key interfaces/ICDs
• Manage supplier technical governance

• Have a relevant degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in EW / mission systems architecture for airborne platforms with end-to-end ownership
• Ability to convert threat-driven scenarios into EW requirements and KPIs (timing budgets, coverage, geo-location performance, latency, survivability)
• Designed or led an operational EW CONOPS and autonomous behavior
• Understand the sensor-to-effector chain and real-time constraint logic
• Strong multi-sensor fusion experience (ESM/RWR, radar, EO/IR, nav) and track correlation
• Owned threat library / mission data architecture (data model, validation, versioning, pipeline, onboard integration)
• Led safety, assurance, and cyber/COMSEC considerations for autonomous EW actions in regulated environments
• Defined test & evaluation strategies and verification matrices across HIL, range, and flight testing
• Comfortable with cross-functional and supplier governance: ICDs, architecture reviews, trade studies, issue closure with objective evidence
