Overview

In this role you will own end-to-end requirements engineering for an autonomous air combat system. You translate contractual obligations into clear, verifiable requirements across onboard and ground segments, ensuring traceability and compliance. You will lead MBSE adoption alongside traditional text-based requirements and collaborate with AI, systems, V&V, and QA teams to meet certification and customer expectations. You’ll drive quality standards, reviews, and documentation for ARP4754A and related processes, shaping mission-critical aerospace software and systems.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Capture, author, and manage system-level requirements for aircraft and ground systems, translating contractual obligations into verifiable technical requirements
  • Own and maintain the requirements baseline and traceability matrix with full bidirectional traceability
  • Negotiate system requirements and Methods of Compliance (MoC), validating derived requirements with software and engineering teams
  • Establish and improve the requirements management toolchain (DOORS, Polarion, Jama, or equivalent) with MBSE models and V&V environments
  • Support MBSE adoption and bridge it with traditional requirements approaches to suit programme needs
  • Define and enforce requirements quality standards ensuring verifiability and correct allocation to components
  • Conduct requirements review boards with cross-functional teams to assess impact of changes
  • Prepare requirements documentation to meet compliance and certification standards (ARP4754A) and provide status updates to engineering and programme management teams
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Practical competence in managing requirements for avionics or electronic warfare systems from negotiation to qualification
  • Experience with requirements tooling (DOORS, Polarion, Jama) and integration within a systems engineering toolchain
  • Experience with MBSE using Cameo Systems Modeler or Enterprise Architect (SysML/UML)
  • Ability to translate stakeholder needs into formal, traceable, testable requirements for design and V&V
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards such as ARP4754B and impact on software qualification and certification
  • Strong coordination across multi-disciplinary teams and clear communication with stakeholders
