Job Purpose / Role

This diverse role exposes you to the different facets of Allianz Direct’s Accounting and Tax function. You will contribute to managing the closing process and tax reporting for Allianz Direct. Within this responsibility you will be dealing with general accounting topics, analysis of numbers, coordination of our foreign branches and management of the tax reporting process with our external and Allianz internal tax counterparts. You will contribute by your actions to Allianz Direct’s monthly and quarterly financial closing in line with German Accounting principles, IFRS 17 as well as Solvency II. Innovation is key to us – therefore we continuously look for process & system enhancements. This role will give you the opportunity to be part of our innovation journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing and coordinating the closing process with our foreign branches on the tax reporting and analysis of corporate income taxes and deferred taxes in IFRS and Solvency II.
• Process booking entries on taxes for preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements according to HGB, IFRS and Solvency II for Allianz Direct Versicherungs‑AG.
• Manage and coordinate other tax topics regarding VAT, IPT and transfer pricing including tax audit support together with Group Tax.
• Contribute towards an efficient reporting process.
• Assure data quality and provide clarifications to management.
• Participate in projects and initiatives on demand.
• Manage the tax reporting process with our local service providers and Group Tax, aligning deliverable, timelines, content and analysis.
• Very close collaboration within the whole accounting function of Allianz Direct in Munich and with the branches.

Qualifications / Key Skills

• Ability to develop and apply operational excellence including process structure, process efficiency and process documentation.
• IT literate, including Excel at advanced level, SAP and GTC.
• Excellent analytical skills, highly numerate and comfortable with quantitative analysis, with good attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong team player and ability to work with others effectively.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to plan ahead and multi‑task.
• Fluent in English and German (written and spoken).

Education & Experience

• University degree in Business administration (with a focus on accounting & taxes) or comparable education (Certified Accountant) and/or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in tax reporting under HGB, IFRS and Solvency II.
• Experience in project management and stakeholder management.
