What you will do
Audit Subject Matter Expertise
- Serve as the primary internal and external expert for all audit‑related topics for the product team, sales, consulting, support, and customers.
- Monitor and assess developments in audit methodology, standards, and regulation (IDW, ISA (DE), HGB, WPO) and translate them into product requirements.
- Maintain and advance the audit methodology embedded in our solutions (AuditTemplate, AuditReport, Claudia).
- Engage with audit firms and key customers at a professional, peer‑level to understand workflows, challenges, and expectations.
- Represent Caseware in relevant professional and industry contexts where appropriate (e.g., IDW, customer advisory boards).
AI & the Future of Audit
- Actively engage with AI tools in your own daily work – the team is encouraged to use AI across the board.
- Contribute audit practice expertise to the development of AI‑driven product capabilities and help define what AI-assisted audit should look like, what makes sense methodologically, and where AI creates real value.
- Stay current on how AI is reshaping audit workflows, regulatory expectations, and the profession as a whole, and bring that perspective into product decisions.
- Act as a credible voice toward customers and the market on the topic of AI in audit.
Product Strategy & Ownership
- Own the product roadmap for the German Desktop and Cloud Audit portfolio and collaborate with global PMs to ensure German‑specific features and methodologies are understood and prioritized.
- Define and prioritize requirements based on audit practice expertise, customer feedback, and market trends.
- Represent German market needs in global product planning and engineering discussions.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a small, specialized team of Product Managers and Product Specialists.
- Run sprint ceremonies, facilitate prioritization decisions, and ensure clean execution in Jira.
- Coach team members and support their professional growth.
- Ensure clarity on roles, responsibilities, and priorities across the team.
Release & Delivery
- Drive major product releases ahead of the busy season (deadline: September each year).
- Coordinate cross‑functional release readiness with platform, consulting, support, and sales.
- Monitor sprint progress, remove blockers, and escalate where needed.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as primary product contact for German audit customers, key accounts, and partners.
- Partner with Sales, Pre‑Sales, Support, and Consulting to channel customer, audit, and escalation insights into targeted product improvements.
What you will bring
Must‑have
- Several years (>5 years) of hands‑on experience in statutory audit (Abschlussprüfung) at an audit firm.
- Qualified as Wirtschaftsprüfer (WP) or Steuerberater (StB), or currently in the qualification process.
- Deep understanding of German audit methodology, standards, and regulation (IDW, ISA (DE), HGB, WPO).
- Ability to engage with auditors and firms at a professional peer level.
- Strong affinity for IT and digital tools – comfortable working with software products and understanding technical contexts.
- Openness and genuine interest in AI – curiosity, willingness to engage intensively with AI tools, and see them as part of modern work.
- Structured, project‑oriented working style with the ability to manage multiple topics in parallel.
- German at native speaker level, English proficient (both required).
Nice to have
- Experience in product management, product ownership, or a comparable role in software.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and tools like Jira.
- Experience with Caseware’s audit software (Working Papers, AuditSolutions, Claudia).
Product management experience is valued but not a prerequisite – what matters most is deep audit expertise, IT affinity, and the ability to drive projects. The product management craft can be developed on the job.
