Team Lead Export Control & Customs

Our client is seeking an experienced professional to lead and further develop a global export control, sanctions, and customs compliance framework. This is a high-impact position offering strong visibility and the opportunity to shape governance structures across a complex international organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive and continuously enhance global export control and customs compliance frameworks.
• Ensure full adherence to international sanctions and trade regulations.
• Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders on compliance, classification, and licensing matters.
• Optimise processes, tools, and screening systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Oversee audits, monitor regulatory developments, and proactively mitigate risks.
• Lead, or step into leading, an international team.

Requirements

• Proven experience in export control, sanctions, and/or customs compliance.
• Strong knowledge of EU regulations; familiarity with US regulations is advantageous.
• Academic background in law, business, or international trade.
• Excellent analytical capabilities and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership experience or clear potential to move into a leadership role.
