About us
The IT Department of the Hamburg Tax Administration, with over 100 employees, provides IT support for the daily work of approximately 4,000 employees across 14 tax offices, Office 5 of the Tax Authority, and the North German Academy of Finance.
The work takes place in close collaboration with other agencies of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg (FHH), the North German states (NdL), and within the Germany-wide KONSENS project. Together with your colleagues in the IT Department, you will take on a wide range of managerial, coordinating, and technical tasks.
Your responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to your team with a special focus on cross-functional collaboration with external stakeholders
- Advise managers and employees on all issues related to the subject area
- Advance the use and integration of new technologies (RPA and AI) in tax administration
- Analyze AI and machine learning solutions and assess their applicability
- Drive the technical integration and training of AI models, including the analysis and evaluation of results
Your profile
Required
- University degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Public Administration Informatics, or a related field
- Alternatively: Skills and experience equivalent to a master’s degree based on a completed degree (bachelor’s or equivalent) in the above-mentioned fields, with an additional 4 years of relevant professional experience in activities related to the advertised position
- Fluency in spoken and written German (C1 level of the CEFR)
Desirable
- At least two years of relevant professional experience in the digitization of business processes within a complex technical environment
- Prior knowledge of AI libraries or frameworks for the use and application of existing machine learning and/or deep learning models
- Experience in the technical leadership of a team
- Conceptual thinking and working style to collaboratively develop ideas for use cases of these technologies
- Flexibility regarding working hours and willingness to travel for several days at a time
