Team Lead Import

The Team Lead Operations Import/Export is responsible for leading a team of freight forwarding professionals and ensuring the smooth execution of international import and export shipments. The role focuses on operational excellence, customer satisfaction, process efficiency, and team development while maintaining compliance with industry regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Import/Export Operators and Customer Service Specialists.
• Oversee the end-to-end management of international shipments across air, ocean, and/or road freight.
• Ensure high service quality, operational efficiency, and compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve operational challenges and customer escalations.
• Manage workload distribution and resource planning within the team.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, agents, and internal stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and service delivery.
• Support the implementation of new processes, systems, and best practices.
• Analyze operational KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.
• Contribute to the achievement of departmental and company objectives.

Required Experience

• Several years of experience in Freight Forwarding Operations (Import and/or Export).
• Previous experience in a Team Lead, Supervisor, or Senior Operations role.
• Strong knowledge of international freight forwarding processes, customs procedures, and transportation regulations.
• Experience managing customer relationships and operational escalations.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Management experience of a Team and leadership mindset
• Experience working with freight forwarding systems such as CargoWise or similar TMS platforms.
• Knowledge of process improvement and operational best practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Fluent in German and English - additional languages are beneficial.
