Role Overview

Mechanical Commissioning Engineer (m/f/d) plans, executes, and validates the commissioning of mechanical systems in data centre construction projects, ensuring installation, testing, and operation meet design specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage multi-disciplinary project teams in accordance with commissioning plans, ensuring compliance with design standards, local codes, and industry best practices.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for all technical coordination and decision‑making within the commissioning scope.
• Develop and drive commissioning strategies and schedules aligned with the overall project program to achieve key milestones and successful project delivery.
• Oversee all commissioning arrangements, testing sequences, documentation, and progress tracking.
• Coordinate closely with project partners, client commissioning teams, and subcontractors to ensure seamless handover of systems and services.
• Close out all observations, non‑conformities, and commissioning‑related issues to client and organisational satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering (Chemical / Mechanical), Science & Technology, or related disciplines.
• Many years of experience in commissioning, including proven success in a senior commissioning or leadership role.
• Strong expertise in commissioning procedures, legal standards, and certification requirements.
• Demonstrated experience with commissioning of Data Centres or similarly complex technical environments.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with the project team and client representatives.
