Our Customer Data & Account team owns the end-to-end technical foundation for customer data, customer accounts, and customer identity across all sales channels. We build cloud-native services that connect a modern custom software landscape with an enterprise-grade SAP core, and we are expanding the scope of this domain significantly. We are looking for a Tech Lead who can own the architecture , set the direction , and bring together the people and teams needed to deliver it.

As Tech Lead for the Customer Data & Account team, you will be responsible for the overall technical architecture of a domain that spans customer registration, login, account management, and customer data across all of our sales channels. This is a cross-team technical leadership role focused on architecture and direction rather than day-to-day development. You will shape how the system evolves and help the teams building it move in the same direction.

• Own and evolve the end-to-end architecture across customer data, customer accounts, and all sales channels
• Set technical direction across multiple teams and align the domain's evolution with product and engineering leadership
• Guide the integration between the custom software landscape and the SAP systems (mainly CDC), working closely with the teams responsible for SAP and non-SAP solutions that require customer data in integration with the Google Cloud Platform.
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions, balance short-term delivery with long-term maintainability, and address risks early
• Lead technical alignment with internal and external stakeholders, mentor engineers and technical leaders, and stay close enough to implementation to review decisions credibly
• You communicate clearly and can adapt your style to different audiences: engineers, product managers, and senior stakeholders alike
• You make decisions pragmatically, weighing architectural trade-offs rather than optimizing for theoretical perfection
• You are comfortable setting direction even when the full picture is not yet complete, and you update your position when new information changes the situation
• You understand both the big picture and enough technical detail to challenge and guide implementation decisions credibly
• You develop the people around you and see mentoring technical leaders as part of the job
• You enjoy working across team and organizational boundaries and treat coordination as a core responsibility, not an overhead
• Proven experience as a Tech Lead , Lead Engineer , Principal Engineer , or Software Architect
• Experience owning end-to-end system architecture across multiple teams or technical domains
• Experience leading or coordinating distributed or cross-functional engineering teams
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures
• Experience designing integrations across multiple systems and technical domains
• Ability to work across organizational and technical boundaries, including with teams using different technology stacks
• Strong communication, facilitation, prioritization, and decision-making skills

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Kotlin , Quarkus , TypeScript , Vue , or Nuxt
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform , including Cloud Run, Cloud Run Functions, Pub/Sub, CloudSQL, or GKE
• Experience integrating custom software with SAP or other enterprise platforms
• Experience in the customer identity , customer accounts , customer data , commerce , or omnichannel domain
• Experience working with external technology providers or system integrators
• Experience mentoring technical leaders in addition to individual engineers
